Maison Caramel (13/15 beds), Peisey Vallandry, Les Arcs

Maison Caramel is a huge 19th century village farmhouse, converted by us in 2008 to offer luxurious chalet accommodation. Built into the hillside under Landry's 17th century church, it’s in a lovely setting with woodland at the back and the village dropping away in front.

The house has bags of character and is arranged on three levels, with the guest dining and living areas on the second floor to make the most of the views. It’s the perfect place to unwind and relax.

Bedrooms

Each of the bedrooms has its own character and individual style, but all aim to preserve the feeling of French farmhouse simplicity. There are polished wood floors, designer shower or bath rooms, French doors and huge balconies with views of the nearby mountains, river or village.

All the rooms have luxurious feather duvets and pillows (let us know if you have an allergy), guest robes, slippers, and complimentary organic toiletries. Room 5, the largest room, also has a double-ended bath – ideal for a romantic soak.

The bedrooms comprise:

• Bedroom 1: ground floor twin room, ensuite shower room and shared terrace
• Bedroom 2: first floor twin room with ensuite shower room, balcony and large private terrace with mountain and river views
• Bedroom 3: first floor double room (space for extra single bed if required), ensuite shower room and large balcony
• Bedroom 4: second floor double room (double bed, room for an extra single if required), ensuite shower room and large balcony
• Bedroom 5: second floor triple room with double and single bed, sitting area, ensuite bathroom and two large balconies with views over the mountains and river

Village

Landry is an old alpine farming village surrounded by ancient apple orchards and beautiful wild flower meadows. Part of the Peisey Vallandry / Les Arcs ski domain, the village has two bars, a restaurant, post office and village store. Its tranquil, old-fashioned atmosphere offers a welcome contrast to purpose-built resorts with their package tour operators and ugly buildings.

Skiing

The chalet is just a short drive from the lifts in Peisey Vallandry and the funicular to Arcs 1600. It’s also very close to the lifts in Montchavin Les Coches, La Plagne. We provide a free chauffeur service to the lifts and back in Montchavin Les Coches for catered and half board guests.
