Delicious organic and seasonal food

Enjoy tasty home cooking, freshly baked cakes, and seasonal produce. Our emphasis in all our chalets is on using top quality, mostly organic ingredients. We use organic and/or locally sourced meat and dairy products where possible (and grow many of our own vegetables in summer). We also do our best to support small artisan producers locally and in the surrounding regions.

We are happy to adapt our menu to meet your tastes before you travel to us and we can cater for specific food preferences, allergies or special dietary requirements - just let us know when you book (supplement may be payable). For children in your group, we prepare a simple 2 course early supper leaving the adults free to enjoy the evening meal together later.

Breakfast

The hearty breakfast includes fresh fruit, bread, cereals, fruit juice, yogurt, muesli and a daily special, including hot special 5 days a week. One day it might be fried eggs or French toast, another, porridge or scotch pancakes with wild blueberries and crème fraiche.

Afternoon tea

We lay out freshly baked cakes or biscuits for you ready for when you return to the chalet. You can also help yourself to tea, coffee, hot chocolate or herbal teas.

Dinner

Six evenings a week, we prepare a delicious three course dinner served with our house wine (choice of red, white or rose). We also stock a selection of unusual regional wines and organic Spanish cava if you want to try something different (ask to see the wine list). Following dinner, we serve coffee, tea or herbal tea in front of the fire in the living area.

Typical dishes include:

Starters

  • Organic pumpkin and coriander soup with home made granary bread
  • Smoked organic trout and leek cakes with cucumber and tomato salsa
  • Organic spinach, feta and baby tomato galettes with green salad

Main courses

  • Free range local lamb slowly roasted with herbs, root vegetables and white wine
  • Wild mushroom, organic bacon and sweet potato risotto with rocket salad
  • Deep dish fish pie with a crispy potato topping and honey-glazed carrots

One night a week, you have the chance to enjoy one of the excellent local restaurants. There's Chez Merie in le Miroir for a truly magical gastronomic evening, or La Forperet in Montalbert for an authentic savoyarde mountain experience. We're happy to recommend a restaurant depending on your budget and taste.
